Biped Robots

This page gives some information about biped robots and
some ongoing biped robot researches.
 Why biped robots?
Environment that we live is built for us. Buildings, vehicles and
tools that we use are compatible with our mechanical dimensions and abilities.
If the robots are going to be the part of our daily lives to make our lives more conformable ,
they should be compatible to work with us not the other way around.
Some of the areas that the biped robots can outweigh other types of robots are
	- Military purposes
- Biped robots that we are used to see in Sci-fi movies such as
“Terminator and Robocop” are going to be real in near future.
- Fire fighting
-
Chemical and Nuclear fires are especially difficult to put out.
Wheeled and tracked robots usually cannot operate and navigate inside
the buildings. If we can build biped robots matching the mechanical
capabilities of humans, they can be extremely useful to perform these types of tasks.

- Space exploration
- Astronomers suggest that there are about 100 Billion galaxies
in the Universe and 100 Billion stars system in every galaxy. A possible
way to stars passes through the Moon and the Mars. A round trip to Mars
takes about 3 years. This journey is quite expensive and possibly boring for
a human. However, biped robots can be used to scour the planets and possibly
construct living spaces. So the astronauts simply move in.
- Dangerous and dirty work places
- Some work places can be quite uncomfortable and there may be no
cheap or easy way to improve the conditions. In future, we can mass-produce
biped robots and therefore by reducing their cost, we can used them in
environments that are not preferable by us.
- Deep sea diving
- Since biped robots do not need to breathe, they can stay underwater
till the work completed. Since they will posses the human mechanical abilities,
		their usefulness will be unmatched.
